RECIPIENTS OF THE POST SECONDARY SCHOLARSHIPS RECOGNIZED AT THE 96th GEORGIA FFA STATE CONVENTION

MACON, Ga. – Recipients of the Post Secondary Scholarships were recognized at the 96th State FFA Convention held at the Macon Centreplex on April 25-27, 2024. 

Georgia FFA focuses on developing technical and leadership skills that will prepare students for whatever career field they plan to enter into after high school. Many students plan to go on to obtain degrees at post-secondary institutions. The post secondary scholarships awarded at convention will aid these students in their educational endeavors working towards their future careers. 

The 2024 Ford Trucks of Georgia Scholarships were awarded to Avery Allen of Houston County, Ethan Bertram of Mary Persons, Sara Canup of Newton College and Career Academy, Laurel Christopher of White County, Kell Donalson of Bainbridge, Eason Farmer of Mary Persons, Amelia Housley of Stephens County, Kylie Hurd of Sonoraville, John Johnson of Coffee County, Alanna Keith of Taylor County, Carson Lynn of Bainbridge, Mallory Maynard of Etowah, Leilah Mitcham of Liberty County, Makayla Quinn of Winder-Barrow, George Parham of Madison County, Hadley Saxon of Southeast Bulloch, Samuel Shaw of Lanier County, Kayden Stafford of Lincolnton, Henry Throne of Oglethorpe County and Carolyne Turner of Colquitt County. 

The 2024 recipients of the James G. Harris Memorial Scholarship were Ela Grace Ash of Irwin County FFA, Andrew Carnley of Perry FFA, and Angel Rivas of Hampton FFA.  

The winner of the Dr. Frank Flanders Scholarship was Kamren Yaughn of Peach County FFA. 

The 2024 Growing America’s Farmers Scholarships were awarded to Kenna Corbett of Echols County, Kathleen Dykes of Clarke Central, Megan Jacobs of Jefferson City, Maggie Maynard of Etowah, James McNeal of Perry, Riley Metzger of Effingham County, Ayden Wilharm of Effingham County, and Cason Woods of Rockmart. 

The 2024 recipient of the William and Marihope Troutman Flatt Scholarship is Eva Wessels of Lee County. 

The winner of the 2024 Atlanta Farmers Club Scholarship is Ian Heath of Madison County. 

The 2024 Claxton Poultry Scholarship was awarded to Rebecca Jonhson of Claxton FFA. 

The 2024 recipients of the ABAC State Scholarship are Macy Goodman of Bainbridge, Cindy Ramos-Ayala of Eastside, Emma Storey of Jefferson City, and Bobby Ray Staudt of Long County. 

The National FFA Organization, formerly known as the Future Farmers of America, changed its name in 1988 to reflect the growth and diversity of agriculture. There are nearly 940,000 FFA members nationwide. The Georgia Association has more than 80,000 members, making it the third largest Association in the nation.  The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success, through agricultural education.
